  • THE PROCESS

    "There is rarely any forward planning. Materials and choices are made randomly, colors and mediums are selected in accordance with the needs of what transpires at the moment."

     

    Ovadia says that chance plays the most significant role in creating her masterpieces. She values the uniqueness of a singular moment and in turn, its fleeting nature. When following prescribed formulas, one is guided by a course of action. In Ovadia's case however, her method is entirely experimental, resourceful, and temporaneous.

  • With the purpose of discovering the essence of art, Ovadia has spent a significant amount of her life traveling throughout the globe in search of natural beauty and harmony in the universe. Through frequent travel, and continuous education in  Russia, Belgium, Italy and Canada, and living on three different continents through her life, Ovadia has gained a tremendous amount of insight and inspiration from international cultures, specifically European and Asian. Her lived experiences have played an integral part in her development and progression as an artist and in her craft.

  • THE INSPIRATION

    What inspires Ovadia's expressive paintings? She says she is more drawn into the future  than into the past. She likes things that are transparent in nature, have an esthetic appeal, and that are intriguing. With her works, she attempts to fuse minds, skills, words, creations, fabrics, alternative resources – all which influence her innovative ways of expression. Art in contemporary settings also inspires her. "It elevates my senses and motivates me to visualize in my mind what I am attempting to achieve."
