Exploring the intersection of Quantum physics and Monism, Farsad Labbauf's linear painting style challenges the viewer with unique expressions of light, form, and color. His works exist in a state of flux, uncovering the duality of segmentation and unity and drawing on a wide range of sources for inspiration.
Farsad Labbauf's linear painting style draws inspiration from Figurative Expressionism and results in persuasive and challenging paintings and drawings. With a focus on layered meanings, his portraits are unique expressions of light, form, and color, drawing on elements of Quantum physics and Monism. Labbauf believes that a painting must exist in a state of flux as all events, objects, people, and thoughts are constantly changing, and his works exist "halfway between completion and dissolution" uncovering the duality of segmentation and unity.
Labbauf received his education at Rhode Island School of Design and has been featured in group and solo exhibitions for over 20 years, exhibiting in Iran, the US, and the Netherlands. His work is part of collections including Saatchi Gallery in London, Salsali Private Museum in Dubai, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Esfahan, and the Walt Disney Corporation in Orlando. Carstens de Boer Art Collection in Amsterdam also showcases his work.
His works, often taking form as portraits, challenge and persuade viewers through layered meanings that exist in a state of flux, reflecting the duality of segmentation and unity. With over 20 years of experience and exhibitions in Iran, the US, and the Netherlands, Labbauf's work can be found in prestigious collections such as the Saatchi Gallery, Salsali Private Museum, and the Walt Disney Corporation.
Labbauf's work has been described as ethereal and enigmatic, inviting viewers to engage with his paintings on a deeper level. His paintings often feature subjects with blurred features, emphasizing the transience of human identity and the impermanence of existence. Labbauf's use of color and line adds to the emotional intensity of his work, conveying a sense of depth and movement that draws the viewer in.
In addition to his paintings and drawings, Labbauf has also worked in sculpture, video, and installation art, exploring a range of media and techniques to express his ideas. He has collaborated with other artists and creatives on numerous projects, and his work has been featured in a variety of publications and media outlets.
Labbauf's art is deeply rooted in his Iranian heritage and his experiences as an immigrant to the United States. He sees his work as a way to bridge cultural divides and promote understanding between different communities. Through his art, he seeks to challenge conventional notions of identity, race, and culture, and to explore the complexities of human experience in a rapidly changing world.
Despite his success, Labbauf remains committed to his artistic vision, always striving to push the boundaries of his craft and create work that is both intellectually challenging and emotionally resonant.
