BLANK SPACE proudly presents Perspectiva, a solo exhibition of works by Spanish photographer Miguel Vallinas, who is renowned for his surrealist vision and abstract visual style. Perspectiva is an exhibition that dives into the artist's unique perspective, which challenges typical conventions of still life, through eye-catching composition and perceived movement. In his two most recent series, Blanco and Naturaleza, Vallinas produces modern surrealistic studio images of characters from his imagination. His surrealism is inspired by the likes of Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, and René Magritte, but at the same time, is entirely his own.

BLANCO
Blanco is a series that encapsulates an amalgamation of infinite ideas, now connected by a new common thread—light and the color white. This color shares an intrinsic relationship with photography, where the fundamental essence lies in light or the art of painting with light. Diverse ideas intertwining, traversing a path that seems almost infinite. -
ARTIST INSPIRATION + PROCESSAs an advertising and industrial photographer, Vallinas takes influence from various aspects of existence, including nature, the urban landscape, contemporary architecture, and portraiture. Once inspired, he carefully drafts and composes his subjects, leaving no room for improvisation. His strength and talent in composition is evident in his photographs, enhanced by the post production editing of his works.

NATURALEZA
Naturaleza viva is a series that emerges in contrast to the concept of still life, portraying inert and inanimate objects in movement instead of stillness. Miguel subverts the concept of still life by conceiving photographs that portray explosion of objects, expanding yet freezing in an exact moment. -
