A sculptor known for his intricate steel sculptures composed of welded letters, logos, and symbols, his elaborate and labor-intensive creative process involves the use of clay, plaster, steel followed by careful welding, sanding, painting, and kiln-heating. Today, he is an acclaimed artist with works collected by private collections and has exhibited in numerous galleries and solo exhibitions worldwide.

Byungjin Kim is a South Korean sculptor known for his intricate and captivating steel sculptures. His sculptures are made up of steel letters, logos, and symbols, which are welded together to create inspiring and thought-provoking figures and shapes. Kim's creative process is elaborate and labor-intensive, involving the use of clay, plaster, or FRP plastic to create the figures and shapes, followed by welding and forming each individual piece of machined steel. He then sands the welded areas carefully before applying multiple layers of quality car paint and heating the artwork in a kiln at 200 degrees. Through this extensive process, Kim seeks to find truth in his art.

 

One of Kim's most popular series is the LOVE-love series, which aims to convey a message of hope and joy to a wider audience beyond art enthusiasts and critics. Inspired by the pure joy his daughter brought into his life, Kim seeks to share this love by portraying an untainted heart, a universal symbol of love, whose shape alone communicates a warm message. Today, Kim is an acclaimed artist in South Korea, with his works collected by private collections, such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Philos Hotel, The Sculpture Park in Gangwon Land, and Suwon District Court. He has participated in numerous gallery group exhibitions and held several solo exhibitions in Korea and Taiwan.

Biography
Byungjin Kim is a master of steel sculpture, crafting elaborate figures and shapes by welding countless letters, logos, and symbols together. His labor-intensive process involves forming each individual piece of steel, sanding and painting the welded areas, and then heating the artwork in a kiln. Through this process, Kim seeks truth and imbues his art with a sense of depth and meaning.

Byung Jin Kim graduated from Suwon University with a degree in in Sculpture. He participated in numerous gallery group exhibitions, and held several solo exhibitions in Korea and Taiwan. Today, Kim is an acclaimed artist in South Korea, and his works are collected by several private collections, such as National Museum of Contemporary Art, Philos Hotel, The Sculpture Park in Gangwon Land and Suwon District Court, to name a few.
